There
is no factory original Cup or RS air filter cover that is any different
than the original unit that came with the 964. The sport-type cover that
you are referring to was a modification that some tuners did to the covers
for more air. This can be easily done by you or a shop with the correct
hole saw. The only thing this modification will get for you is a better
sound with the throttle. The Porsche intake systems all have a very high
volumetric efficiency and will flow as much or more air than what the
engine will use. Changing the stock air filter to the BMC air filter
is a good idea; it will not flow more than
the stock filter but as the mileage increases the stock filter will start
to impede air flow where the BMC filter will not. |
